From Michelin starred restaurants to cooking in car parks, maverick chef Ben Spalding has done it all and he’s created a couple of great menus for the top two floors at Makers. Up in the kitchen its all about hearty sized portions of great seasonal food. There’s Black Hand Pork Belly cooked in Dalston Cola, Ben’s awesome take on fish & chips, and a ‘whipped mince pie mousse’ that’s been put through a retro styled aerated gun. In the lounge he’s overseen the food side of our Winter Whiskey Pairing Menu where we can look forward to some very rich umami meat packed dishes to go with some fantastic whiskies. If you’ve got a sweet tooth the first floor is the place to be with a hot cocktail bar next to a dessert bar from Yolk. While outside Street Feast favourite’s Yum Jungle will be keeping things spicy in the courtyard serving up Yum Jungle Thai Curry alongside their trademark Thai fried chicken.
